Support KSKA
2009 has been a year worthy of reflection. It has been a time of challenge for many in our state, nation and the world. It has also been a year for coming together, and supporting the causes that matter – the organizations that make a difference in the community. We thank you for the trust you have placed in us with your strong support of KSKA 91.1 FM.
As your public radio station, we understand that our value to this community is a measure of the quality of programs and services we provide. That is why this year, during a time of uncertainty and change in the media environment, we have focused our efforts on improving and expanding our service – with your help.
Because you rely on KSKA more than ever, we have added new programs to include more international news coverage, more programs on health and science, and more coverage of the environment and technology. We’ve also expanded and improved our local, community-focused programming:
The new program Addressing Alaskans increases our coverage of events and lectures from local sources like the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s Make It Monday series, the World Trade Center of Alaska, the Anchorage Museum and the Alaska World Affairs Council. And Hometown, Alaska is a new call-in program that shares stories and issues that matter to listeners in Southcentral Alaska.
All this, and more, is made possible through the investment of community members – people like you and me.
I’d like to ask you to stop and think about all the ways KSKA makes a difference in your life and your community. Recall how often you turned to KSKA to seek information on the important issues facing your city, state and the world.
As we look to the close of 2009, and the beginning of a new year, we ask that you consider making an financial contribution – be it an additional gift, a New Membership or a Renewing Membership.
Together, we can continue to build our community – for 2010 and beyond.
