KSKA’s Datebook49 Community Calendar
Sun, Nov 1, 2009
Since early last week, we’ve been experiencing problems with our datebook49 community calendar of events. Visitors to KSKA’s website can view the datebook49 calendar, however we’re still working on issues surrounding the “Submit Your Event” link. For the past 5 days no one has been able to submit an event. Please keep checking back. We hope to have this problem resolved early this week. Thank you for patience and understanding.
UPDATE: As of Tuesday afternoon, Nov 3 datebook49.com is functioning properly. Please Contact Us if you have any problems.

KSKA Tweetup: Captured on video
Tue, Jan 13, 2009
Alaska travel guru Scott McMurren attended last week’s “Tweetup” at KSKA and kindly shot video of the proceedings. With this video (below) plus the photos collected on Flickr, I think we’ve just about documented everything!
Thanks again to everyone that came out last week! Stay tuned more social media events in the future.
KSKA Tweetup: A great success
Fri, Jan 9, 2009
Thanks to everyone that came out to the KSKA Tweetup Thursday night at KSKA / KAKM / APRN!
What a great group of people — we were proud to spend time meeting the people behind the avatars on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere. And we had an amazing response. I don’t have an official count, but it was at least 40 people, maybe even 50. Perhaps it was the “warm” weather that brought everyone out?
I just spent probably 3 hours going over all the tweets and photos from the assembled group that I missed while hosting and giving tours and just chatting with as many people as possible. There’s some great stuff out there. It almost looks more fun online than in the real world… but I know better!
By way of numbers, I’ve found about 250 tweets from or about the event. Wow! And there are already 25+ photos online, with more to come, I’m sure. See? Lotsa fun. Toward the bottom of this post I’ve collected links to all the Twitter folks that I know attended as well as links to all the photos I can find.
Reminder: KSKA Tweetup today at 6pm
Thu, Jan 8, 2009
A quick reminder to anyone interested in hanging out at KSKA and meeting some cool social media folks from around Anchorage…
The KSKA Tweetup is still on for today (Thursday) at 6:00 p.m. All we ask is that folks register for the event (free) so we can have enough snacks and prep a custom nametag for everyone.
This should be a fun, casual event! So far we’ve got a small group of about 25 planning to attend. Read up on our plans here. Register here.
All are welcome, whether you’re already a social media maven or just interested in learning more.
Questions? Contact us at twitter@kska.org.
KSKA ‘Tweetup’: Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Sun, Jan 4, 2009
Are you a Twitter user? Would you like to be? Maybe you use Facebook or MySpace or LinkedIn? Did your friends or family rope you into using social media services like these, or have you been using them for years now?
Well, no matter your experience level, you’re invited to gather at the KSKA studios in Anchorage for a casual meet-up — a “Tweetup” — of social media users right here in Alaska.
Please join us this Thursday, January 8 at 6:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Come to the Tweetup to…
- meet and chat with other social media users in Anchorage
- get personalized radio and TV studio tours
- enjoy free snacks and drinks
- use our free WiFi Internet access
- learn how to setup your own Twitter account if you don’t have one
We’ll have a few laptops available and everyone is welcome to take pictures, shoot video and even live-blog the event if you like.
We only ask one thing: Please register for the Tweetup by Thursday morning so we can print you a custom nametag and so we can plan to have enough snacks for everyone.
Got questions? Feel free to drop us a line: twitter@kska.org. We’re looking forward to hosting our first social media event and we’re betting on a great crowd!
