Today we conclude our series of reports on the Anchorage Assembly races in the upcoming April 1st, Municipal Election. The midtown Seat G contest features an unusual mixture of candidates, issues, voters…and the courts.
UPDATE (Thu, March 20, 2008)
After this story on Assembly Seat G was produced and posted, the Alaska Supreme Court announced it will hear arguments about incumbent Dick Traini’s right to run for re-election. The municipal clerk filed an appeal with the Supreme Court after a Superior Court Judge ruled Monday, March 17th, that Traini could not run. The Supreme Court has said it will expedite the case.

Eagle River/Chugiak race features rematch and a new voice

For the second time in as many years Eagle River/Chugiak voters will decide who holds Anchorage Assembly Seat C. Besides that twist, in the upcoming April 1st municipal election, they will be choosing from among three candidate - two official…and one unofficial.

KSKA now begins a series of candidate profiles for the upcoming April 1, 2008 municipal election.
While five of Anchorage’s six assembly districts have two representatives each, one district is the exception with only one Assembly seat. Seat B includes Government Hill, Fairview, Mountain View, South Addition and the downtown area, and the incumbent is not allowed to run again.

Public Office Commission fines Starr
