The KSKA web site is updated almost every day by Kristin Spack with local news, station info, photos and more. Additional web contributions come from Bede Trantina and Connie Huff, long-time KSKA staffers.

John Proffitt, APTI’s Director of IT Services, created the KSKA web site framework, maintains the server and Internet connections, and also contributes content occasionally.

Public e-mail to KSKA is typically answered by Bede Trantina. Web comments are moderated by John Proffitt and/or Kristin Spack.

Our site relies upon several open source software projects to which we’d like to tip our hats:

The site design, or theme, is a modified version of the Vertigo WordPress theme, created by Brian Gardner.

For the record, all the above technologies and services are 100% free — a critical factor for a nonprofit corporation looking to make every dollar count. We can’t thank the thousands of software developers out there enough for their fantastic efforts.

Services

We monitor site traffic using Google Analytics.
We use FeedBurner to standardize our podcast feeds and to provide e-mail subscription services to our shows and podcasts.
We list several of our podcasts in the iTunes Store (podcasts are free, of course).
Our web site is currently hosted on a server located in our Anchorage, Alaska offices.
Our (very expensive) Internet bandwidth is purchased from ACS (Alaska Communications Systems).
We stream KSKA’s live broadcast signal online using (paid) services from StreamGuys.
Our online schedule and online events calendar (datebook49.com) services are provided by Trumba.
