Anchorage Gang Members Don't Fit National Pattern

Anchorage has a youth gang problem. But the city’s hardly alone. That’s why nearly one hundred police officers from across the state have gathered at the Anchorage Police Department’s Training Center for a two day seminar on gangs. KSKA’s Len Anderson presents the first of a two part series on gangs.

Dr. Al Valdez says right now crime is at a statistical, national low that some experts believe rivals 1960. But Valdez says the tabulation format likely hides the true impact of gangs on crime.
