Mayor Wants To Repeat Energy Consumption Test

Next month and before winter temperatures strike the city, the municipality of Anchorage will once again test resident cooperation should a natural gas delivery emergency occur.

Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan announced the launching of Energy Watch Part Two at his weekly Wednesday press conference. Like last year, the preparedness campaign is regionwide and includes the Mat-Su and Kenai Peninsula Boroughs.

Also like its predecessor, Energy Watch Two will involve a two hour test of resident cooperation should an emergency occur in the region’s gas delivery system. That energy reduction experiment will take place October 20th, from six to eight p.m. It will be preceded by a public education program explaining ways to reduce household energy consumption.
