Addressing Alaskans: Republican Gubernatorial Debate

In their last public speaking opportunity before the primary election, Governor Sean Parnell, Ralph Samuels, and Bill Walker met for a Republican Gubernatorial debate at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage on Monday, August 23rd. Commonwealth North (CWN) hosted the debate, moderated by their president, Joe Beedle.

Structured similar to the Democratic Gubernatorial debate CWN hosted on August 5th, the first half of the program focused on fiscal policy, energy and health care. In the second half, candidates responded to audience questions on the Gulf Oil Spill and the drilling moratorium, ANWR, Pebble Mine, ACES, medicaid and education.
