Engineering Pharmaceuticals goes behind the curtain and shows how drugs are created and looks at efforts to bring down the cost.
This special program airs Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day) at 2:00 pm, repeating at 8:00 pm in place of KSKA’s Line One: Your Health Connection. Line One will return next week.

Amsterdam’s stop meets visitor industry expections

Earlier this week Anchorage hosted the first of nine summer dockings of Holland America Line’s M.S. Amsterdam. Many are looking to the cruise ship’s 14 hour stays in Anchorage to boost the troubled, local visitor industry.

Addressing Alaskans: Observations from the Walrus Islands in Bristol Bay

Terry Johnson, a professor with the University of Alaska Seagrant Marine Advisory Program has been taking ecotour groups to the to view walrus populations in Bristol Bay for over decade. Based on his first-hand observations, Johnson shared his “Notes and Observations from the Walrus Island of Bristol Bay” at a Wildlife Wednesday lecture hosted by Alaska Zoo.

President Obama speech on BP oil spill

President Obama held a news conference at the White House today to address what is being done to stop the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, now the largest spill in America’s history. He also extended a moratorium on new deepwater oil drilling permits for six months, consequently suspending Shell from its plans to drill exploratory wells in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas in Alaska this summer.
