The Commonwealth Club welcomes Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, hosts of the popular television series. The MythBusters will tell you the truth about science. They don’t call themselves scientists or physicists, just curious guys doing fun things. Join in the fun and listen to this special program on KSKA with The MythBusters, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00p.m. repeating Wednesday evening at 10:00 pm Hometown, Alaska will return next week (12/02).

8:30 am – Writers Almanac
(APRN News and Economic Report returns tomorrow, 11/27)
2:00 pm – BackStory
When we sit down to Thanksgiving dinner, do we know what we’re commemorating? On the holiday special called, BackStory, on KSKA, the History Guys search for the roots of Thanksgiving. They discover that the holiday we celebrate today begins with the Victorians, who in the midst of the Civil War sought a holiday honoring home and family. They’ll find out if Thanksgiving strengthen the Union, as its proponents had hoped and, what relation Indians have to the holiday in reality and in myth. And ,what does football have to do with it? These are some of the questions on the table as BackStory digs into an American classic on KSKA, Thursday afternoon at 2:00p.m. Addressing Alaskans will return next week (12/03).
6:00 pm – A Closer Look
An encore of A Closer Look recorded this summer features producer Annie Feidt talking to Dr. Jane Lubchenco, head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She was in Alaska for nearly a week this summer to tour the state. She also held the first in a series of public meetings this year to help inform future federal policy on the nation’s oceans. Alaska News Nightly will return tomorrow (11/27).
Wednesday, December 2
9:00 pm – Radio Lab
Hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich take a big idea, so big that it lives everywhere, hiding in a thousand places under different names, and they chase that idea, going wherever whim takes them. Along the way, they interview, argue, imagine, and discover the hidden connections which make the idea so surprisingly powerful. Radio Lab is produced by WNYC, New York and distributed by National Public Radio. Addressing Alaskans will return (12/04)

To whom it may concern;
I wrote the Movie Theaters (Regal and Century) last week because “Precious” went national Friday, November 20, 2009. I live in Alaska and would enjoy watching this movie during the Thanksgiving Holiday. I asked them to please explain again why “PRECIOUS” was NOT showing in Alaska? And to Also explain why “GOOD HAIR” by Chris Rock was NOT showing in ALASKA? Regal responded that “Precious and GOOD HAIR” were both low budget movies. I found out that the movie “Paranormal Activity” was made with $11,000?
Thank you
Valerie
