I am overjoyed that Anchorage Edition can now be downloaded as a podcast. I will renew my subscription for another year. Thanks very much. It is my favorite show on kska.

I am not sure when and where the 80 percent approval rating for Sarah Palin is coming from. As noted in your broadcast, where letters to the editor are 3 to 1 against Palis and evident as well in the Daily News Miner paper, there are many more votes of non-confidence in Palin and her leadership being expressed. I believe this is apparent in women more so than men.

I would like to see you relook at her Alaskan support and let citizens who have concerns express their views.

    Thanks,

    Leslie Dolan

Leslie — The 80% approval rating has been widely reported, and the numbers are from valid polling services in Alaska. I don’t have the details in front of me, but if you do a web search for the approval rating numbers, the sources will be clear.

Her approval fell about mid-summer into the low- to mid-70’s, but rose suddenly when the VP nomination came through. Palin has been consistently rated with highly favorable ratings pretty much throughout her Governorship.

Of course, the VP run is now warping those figures as alliances shift around and people’s opinions are changed by new information brought in from Outside media outlets and some of the latent positions Palin has held are scrutinized to a much higher degree. So who knows where the approval ratings will go next.
