Community Forum: Palin media mania

Alaska has been under the bright lights this year. Think back to the surprise birth of Governor Sarah Palin’s baby, Trigg; Troopergate and the firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Moneghan; John McCain’s selection of Palin to be his vice presidential running mate and now her 17 year old daughter, Bristol is commanding headlines.
Some listeners criticize the media for making too much of these stories, some say not enough is made of them. Who decides? Who sets the limits? And what do you think? Join Community Forum host Nellie Moore and her guests, UAA Journalism Professor, Edgar Blatchford and Dr. Fred Pearce, Chair of UAA’s Department of Journalism and Public Communications as they discuss the latest media frenzy over Governor Sarah Palin and her family.

Just befor Palin’s V.P. anouncement, there seemed to be an air of disapointment to her stance on an oil pipeline. I recall one person nicknaming her “Sarah Sell-out” The question becomes were her decisions based on political gains or were her recent actions what were best for the people? I was surprised to hear very little in regards to how she felt or would deal with the Valdez citizens in regards to the high court decision on the Exxon oil spill retribution.
Dear Nellie and guests,
Thank you for having the discussion that we, the rest of the nation, should be having about the Palin VP pick – insightful, big-picture point-of-view, and not-hysterical.
Thanks again,
Nina
The issue I’m concerned about is where does Palin stand on this barrage of ‘global warming’ propaganda and whether she is with McCain on this or would try to get McCain to see the light.
Sarah Palin, is the choice. You can find lots of info on Palin at http://www.veeppeek.com
