Anchorage Assembly backs I/M testing

Anchorage’s vehicle emissions test will continue. Last night in a split vote, the Anchorage assembly repealed an ordinance ending the program on December 31, 2009.

    I am very displeased to hear the assembly has voted to overturn the IM test. It no longer has any value other than to keep city employees employed and generate revenue to fund non related projects.

    I also find it funny that on the same day the assembly voted to stop the IM testing the Mayor is in support of building a large natural gas power plant in the Anchorage bowl area.
