Mr. Shively seems to be asking us to let the pebble project to go ahead without us really knowing or understanding the size and techincal processes they will use to get at what they want.

He does keep saying we don’t know, and it depends, and we’re not sure.

It is talk like this that worries me greatly.

vague generalities make for large brush strokes that make a very unclear picture.

How are we as a people to go forward with such a poor picture of what we will be dealing with?

Mr. Shively mentioned he did not believe the State of Alaska would allow a mining company to transfer assets to a holding company.

My understanding is Northern Dynasty is a holding company formed specifically for the Pebble project. Is this not correct?

Mr. Shively didn’t say he wants Alaskans to go ahead with Pebble without knowing what we were getting. What he said was right now they’re still doing research on the area. The pebble project has a vague idea of how big Pebble will be, but they’re still coming up with an official plan. They’re not selling us a pig in a poke, they’re just saying “Don’t say no to the idea until you hear what the idea is.” They just want to discuss it. What’s the harm in that?

Only 3 comments to the Pebble Mine controversy? It sure speaks poorly of J.Q. Pubic.

Why ruin the best fishing in North America.Gold and copper mines have ruined so many, with there discharge into the waterways.
