Reduction in national funding for the Spanish language news magazine Epicentro Politico has changed the format from an hour to a half hour, Sunday nights at 7:00p.m. The program, produced by Hispanic Communications Network is an important program that delivers national and international news in Spanish to KSKA listeners.   KSKA’s Algo Nuevo with Dave Luera begins at 7:30p.m. Sundays on FM 91.1.

Mat-Su School district funding falls to lower mill rate

The Matanuska Susitna Borough Assembly gave the okay to the FY 2009 Borough budget late Tuesday, despite last minute wrangling over the Borough’s contribution to its school district. A lowered mill rate won out over an increase in funding for Valley schools.

According to the program coordinator, the KSKA / KAKM / APRN team pushed the total number of participants to 700 and the number of teams to 85.
