We were visiting AK & driving from Anchorage up to Denali. On May 17 or 18, we heard some music–I think on public radio–that was native american music with a woman’s voice talking–some song about “I don’t like your girlfriend with her long blonde hair.” I’m trying to find that song–it was very unique–the station kept cutting out so I didn’t get to hear too much. Any ideas? thanks!

    Hi Erin,
If you were listening to KSKA, Traveling Music with host Shonti Elder would be my first guess, so you went to the right place! Assuming you reviewed the May 18th play list and did not see the song, my next suggestion would be to take a look at The Twilight Show play list from May 17. Our other two weekend music programs, Soul to Soul (R&B hits) and Algo Nuevo (Spanish language) don’t tend to play songs like the one you’re describing. If you can’t find the song under Traveling Music or The Twilight Show, most likely you were listening to another station. I’ll forward your question to Shonti to see if she has any ideas.
