pool.jpgOn April 1, Anchorage area voters will decide the fate of 20 bond propositions. Last week we looked at Propositions 2 and 3 impacting area schools. Today on Community Forum, host Nellie Moore and her guests, Peter Crosby from People for Pools and Anchorage public library bond chair, Mary Rasmussen explore the non-school bonds on the ballot. Aside from numerous road service area issues, these bonds deal with roofs for libraries, the Sullivan Arena and the existing museum; swimming pool improvements; roads and drainage, and public safety and transportation.

Vote for Pools on April Fools.
    Swimming skills save lives.
All three of my children have learned to swim in public pools. We simply cannot afford an athletic club membership and do not have access to military base pools.
Also, swimmers from across the state travel to the 50-meter Bartlett Pool for competitions, which provides a tremendous economic influx to the community. Public pools are a city asset. It would be a colossal waste not to maintain the facilities that so greatly enhance our quality of life in this community.
For less money than a Starbuck’s latte per household, we can maintain the treasures that make living in Anchorage great.
