Dear Shonti,
I was listening to your program on NPR on Sunday and would like to correct you on what you said about John Fogerty about why he had not written music for a long time. Unless I misunderstood you, I thought that you said that John did not write because he had been fighting with the members of his former band. If that is what you said then you are incorrect. I have known John since 1970 and I am close friends with him as well as with the other members of Creedence Clearwater Revival because my late husband was their business manager. John went through a period of not writing because of his law suits with the former president of Fanatasy Records whose name was Saul Zaentz. While it is true that John is no longer close with Doug Clifford and Stu Cook, that reason is not the reason why he had a “dry spell” when it came to writing.
I hope that this clears up this misconception about John.
