Black Friday, the traditional post-Thanksgiving start to the holiday shopping season, descended upon Anchorage last week. At least one store opened at 4:00 a.m. and several others unlocked their doors at 5:00. Irresistible bargains produced impressive lines and most likely, some endangered family budgets.

Despite the decline of the US dollar against the euro, Gerard Baker predicts a “stark decline” in the European economy within the next 25 years. US editor and columnist for The Times of London, Baker discussed US - European Economic Relations at the Alaska World Affairs Council in Anchorage on November 9, 2007. Following his talk, members of the Anchorage community posed questions about socialized medicine, the European education system and global warming.

A combination of riotous farce and touching love story, the Alaska Community Theatre presents Perfect Wedding. Director, Don Love and actor, Oliver Siemens join host Mark Muro on Stage Talk to discuss Perfect Wedding, which opens November 30th.
Also on Stage Talk, executive director of Alaska Junior Theatre, Lanie Dreas speaks about The Snow Dragon. School performances begin on December 3rd, and The Snow Dragon opens to the public on December 7th at the Discovery Theatre in Anchorage.
