Demolishing Clark Middle School

After nearly 60 years at the corner of Bragaw Street and Commercial Drive, Clark Middle School had become a Mountain View fixture, if not symbol. Yesterday well over 200 people turned out to celebrate the destruction of that community icon, which like the neighborhood itself, is undergoing major changes.

Major art chosen for the new Dena’ina Convention and Civic Center

Yesterday the city unveiled the two major art designs chosen for the new Dena’ina Convention and Civic Center now under construction in downtown Anchorage. Together the pieces total well over a half million dollars and will depict the land, people and animals unique to the area. KSKA’s Len Anderson reports.

Federal EEOC Chair talks about teenage workplace harassment

Every summer Anchorage sees an increase of teenage employees in local businesses. For many, it’s their first job. And sometimes, according to Naomi Earp, the chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), it can also be their first encounter with workplace harassment. Earp was recently in Anchorage and addressed the harassment issues surrounding these youngest workers. KSKA’s Len Anderson reports.
